BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Limited edition Grand Canyon Subway Posters
My friend Seth Neilson and I made a new poster. It’s a map of the hiking trails in the Grand Canyon, in the style of Massimo Vignelli’s iconic 1972 New York City Subway map:
We’re printing a one-time limited run of this 18” x 24” poster from August 16th through August 25th. That means if you want one, you have to order one before 11:59 p.m. MST August 25th.
After we total up the orders, the folks at LKMNDD in Denver will print the posters on Ultrasmooth Fine Art 285 gsm 100% cotton archival paper, ship them to DFTBA in Missoula, and DFTBA will ship them to you starting the first week of October.

And now, our regularly scheduled Friday programming:
I could be wrong, but I believe this video transcends any need to care about NBA basketball—it’s just FUN to watch these guys express themselves in reaction to their teammates’ (or their own) incredible plays. (video)
If this Friday is one of those Fridays where you could use a “stray dog chases doggie daycare bus, gets adopted” story to put a lump in your throat, here is that story (gift link).
I never knew how gold records were made, but thanks to this interview Ad-Rock and Mike D did with Conan O’Brien, I am appalled. (video)
This is kind of like the iPhone’s Screen Time feature on steroids, and also kind of self-public shaming, and I am here for it (via Kottke.org)
I feel like I’ve seen this before, but it’s still funny: A list of things people blamed on bicycles, throughout history (an increase in women smoking pipes?)
Not gonna lie, sometimes my internet browsing comes up a little short on inspiring/fun/funny content, and I just go to the Contagious Laughter subreddit and scroll until something makes me laugh. This week is one of those weeks, and although I feel bad for this French bulldog, I don’t feel bad enough to not laugh at the noises it’s making when it gets frustrated at the beach.
Probably no one ever agrees with these bracket-style “food playoff” things, and you probably won’t agree with the results of this one unless you’re a huge fan of Philly cheesesteaks, but it’s still a fun excuse to talk about regional foods of the United States (which is kind of international, really).
