I am trying to imagine the work it took to make about 10 seconds of this video and wow (video)
ALERT: If you have not yet signed up for my Freeflow Institute writing + creativity course in the San Juan Islands this May 7-13, please do so now so you can have some fun paddling around in a kayak and talking writing and creativity with some great people. As of this writing, there are still a couple spots left, and when they’re gone, you won’t have another chance until next year.
I follow this Twitter account called Dudes Posting Their W’s and this is one of my all-time favorite posts, because it’s just a wholesome story about people taking care of each other
I don’t know how I found this artist, but every time one of his pieces comes up in my Instagram feed, it makes my day better
(Here’s a link to his website if you don’t participate in Instagram)
This Chrome extension shows you a different piece of art from MoMA every time you open a new browser tab
I am sure I have mentioned Brockbeats before in these posts? Japanese beat maker, almost zero information about them anywhere on the internet (that I can find), very chill music. Anyway, they have a new EP out as of yesterday.
Thanks to Mario Fraoli’s newsletter (which is great whether or not you’re a runner) I got to see this video of the Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins (RIP) covering Queen’s “Somebody to Love” in a show in Chile the week before he died, and now you get to see it too

I HAVE A NEW BOOK!
After my book I Hate Running and You Can Too came out last year, I decided to compile all of the pieces I’ve written about running since 2014, and put them into a book, with newly written intros to each piece. The book is now out in paperback and ebook editions, and it’s called Have Fun Out There Or Not: The Semi-Rad Running Essays. I am currently sold out of signed paperback copies for the next couple weeks, but unsigned copies are available through the following retailers:
- Bookshop
- Amazon
- Barnes & Noble
- Tattered Cover
- Powell’s Books
- Elliott Bay Book Company
- Kindle(ebook)
- Gumroad (ebook)
- Apple Books (ebook)
