Friday Inspiration Vol 276

This is not a new video, but I was eating a donut with sprinkles on it the other day and I said to Hilary, “how do you think they make sprinkles?” and I googled it. I have to be honest, this 5-minute video on how sprinkles are made was extremely satisfying. Also, it has more than 9 million views. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I did. (video)

NEXT WEDNESDAY at 7 p.m. Mountain Time: My friend Ed Roberson will be doing an interview on Instagram Live about my new book, I Hate Running and You Can Too. If you follow me (@semi_rad) or Ed (@mtnprairie) on Instagram, you can watch it. I will attempt to record it as well and post it somewhere afterward, but I’m not 100% sure how that will work.

If anybody wants to talk about how great Small Axe is, specifically Episode 2, I am here (trailer)

“Ok, give it to me straight.”
Starting Your Day on the Internet Is Damaging Your Brain.”

We had a fantastic conversation on Off the Couch this week with Ethan Newberry (aka The Ginger Runner) about making movies, running, and making a living as a full-time creative.

“At school, new ideas are thrust at you every day. Out in the world, you’ll have to find the inner motivation to search for new ideas on your own. With any luck at all, you’ll never need to take an idea and squeeze a punchline out of it, but as bright, creative people, you’ll be called upon to generate ideas and solutions all your lives. Letting your mind play is the best way to solve problems.”
