Friday Inspiration, Vol. 246

In honor of Bob Marley’s 75th birthday this year and of International Reggae Day (which was July 1), we now have an official video for No Woman, No Cry (video)

Courtney Dauwalter started Wednesday at about 2 p.m. on an attempt at the Fastest Known Time on the Colorado Trail—she has to beat the previous mark of 8 days and 30 minutes (if my math is correct, she’ll have to finish by approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13). You can follow her progress here.

I can’t imagine this is going to be healthy but I can imagine it being interesting: Cheetos is creating its own macaroni and cheese

My friend Anna Brones has been painting wonderful blue watercolors of imaginary islands, and she’s selling print sets and “Polaroids” of them.

Someone recently reminded me of this blog post I wrote back in 2013, when my grandmother was still around but dealing with some health issues. I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude this year, when my universe has shrunk considerably, but I still have so much to be thankful for, and re-reading this reminds me of that.

And hey: These Friday Inspiration posts are able to continue thanks to the handful of wonderful people who back Semi-Rad on Patreon for as little as $1 a month. If you’d like to join them, click here for more info—you’ll also get access to the Patreon-only posts I write, as well as discounts to my shop and other free stuff.
